The Rosemount 5300 level transmitter is a high-performance guided wave radar (GWR) transmitter suitable for challenging liquid, slurry, and solid measurements.

Core Technology: Guided Wave Radar (GWR) with Direct Switch Technology (DST) for enhanced signal performance.

Key Performance:

· High Accuracy: ±3 mm

· High Repeatability: ±1 mm

· Long Measuring Range: Up to 50 meters

· Thin Layer Interface Measurement: Capable of detecting liquid layers as thin as 25 mm

Environmental Tolerance:

· Operating Temperature: -196°C to 400°C

· Operating Pressure: Full vacuum to 345 bar (5000 psi)

Safety & Certification:

Certified for SIL 2 (IEC 61508), making it suitable for applications with high safety integrity requirements.

Communication Protocols:

4-20 mA/HART®, Foundation™ Fieldbus, Modbus®

Main Application Scenarios

The robust performance of the Rosemount 5300 makes it an ideal choice for many critical and demanding applications:

· Oil & Gas: Level and interface measurement in lubricant feed tanks, separators, and sumps.

· Power Industry: Level monitoring in high-pressure heater systems in thermal power plants, especially under high-temperature and high-pressure conditions.

· Chemical & Refining: Reliable level measurement in complex reactors, columns, and storage tanks.

Note:

In applications where contamination risk exists (such as coating that may cause bridging between the two rods of a twin-lead probe or connection between the inner rod and outer tube of a coaxial probe), a single-lead probe is preferred.

For applications involving highly viscous or sticky liquids, a PTFE-guided wave probe is recommended. Regular cleaning may also be necessary.
