ASCO™ Series 003 Solenoid Valve Manual Operators (NEMA Types, CSA)

The ASCO Series 003, also known as 8003, is the same RedHat II molded epoxy solenoid valve manual operator used on general purpose ASCO valves. It is available in four standard wattages, AC or DC.

• The standard operator model is a RedHat II watertight model types 1, 2, 3, 3S, 4, and 4X
• Optional features include explosion-proof and watertight models types 3, 3S, 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 7, and 9
• Nominal ambient temperature range is 32° F to 125° F (AC); 32° F to 104° F (DC)
• Mountable in any position for flexible installation

1. Emergency & De-energized Operation

· Enables manual control of valve state during power outages, system commissioning, or maintenance without the need for electrical power, ensuring process safety and continuity.

2. Safety-Rated Enclosures

· Available with various enclosure ratings such as NEMA 1 (General Purpose), NEMA 3R (Raintight), NEMA 4 (Splashproof), NEMA 7 (Explosion-Proof), ensuring safe and compliant operation in harsh or hazardous environments.

3. Easy Installation and Operation

· Designed for direct installation on compatible ASCO solenoid valve coils. Manual operation (push/pull or rotary) can be performed without tools, making it simple and intuitive.

4. Enhanced Safety

· Prevents accidental actuation due to inadvertent power application during commissioning or maintenance, protecting personnel and equipment.

5. Broad Valve Compatibility

· Compatible with most ASCO base-mounted solenoid valves, offering high versatility as a critical safety accessory.

· Emergency manual operation during power failure.

· Initial system commissioning and parameter setup.

· Valve isolation during equipment maintenance and repair.

· Processes requiring local manual control or verification of valve state.

· Hazardous Areas (Requires NEMA 7 Explosion-Proof enclosure).

· Outdoor or damp locations (Requires NEMA 3R or 4 enclosure).
