Products Description
The Rosemount 228 Toroidal Conductivity Sensor reliably measures conductivity in highly conductive electrolyte solutions up to 2 S/cm (2,000,000 µS/cm). These conductivity sensors work in dirty and corrosive applications where metal electrode sensors would otherwise fail. A robust sensor design makes the Rosemount 228 conductivity sensor ideal for measuring concentrations of acid, base and salt solutions.
Features
- Meet challenging application requirements with a selection of chemical resistant body options including PEEK and Tefzel
- High vibration tolerance with reinforced internal metal frame design
- High temperature option for process temperatures up to 200 °C (392 °F) and suitable for use under high pressure up to 295 psig (2135 kPa [abs])
- Suitable for insertion and submersion type applications
- Versatile mounting options featuring either a 3/4" MNPT or 5/8" 11 UNC process connection
- Eliminate the need to shut down your process when removing conductivity sensors from piping and tanks by using an optional retraction assembly kit
Key Advantages
1. Exceptional Fouling and Scaling Resistance
· Electrodeless Design: The absence of exposed electrodes fundamentally eliminates measurement drift and failure caused by electrode fouling, coating, corrosion, or abrasion, offering unmatched reliability in harsh conditions.
2. Ideal for Extreme Applications
· Capable of handling high-concentration slurries, viscous fluids, fibrous media, and corrosive chemicals like strong acids and bases, which would rapidly degrade traditional contacting electrodes.
3. Wide Measurement Range
· Designed for measuring high conductivity solutions, typically covering ranges from tens of thousands μS/cm to hundreds of thousands μS/cm, up to 2,000,000 μS/cm, making it perfect for concentrated acids, bases, and salt solutions.
4. Rugged Construction
· The sensor body is typically constructed from chemically resistant materials (e.g., PFA, PTFE, PVDF), offering a robust build that can withstand high temperatures, pressure, and mechanical stress.
5. Minimal Maintenance
· With no electrodes to clean or replace, maintenance is significantly reduced, often limited to periodic physical inspection, leading to a lower total cost of ownership.
